Thinking of quitting

I have to say that I'm thinking of quitting blogging. Everyone's always like "Shanna, you should blog!" and then I do and no one reads it or if they do, they don't comment. And if no one comments, that makes me think that no one really cares. I even put specific things for you to comment on and people still don't comment. I really think the amount of readers of this blog is at most 5 and I just don't think it's all that worth it for me to even bother. So, I think I'll blog when I feel like it and it'll mainly be just for me. Just something I can come back and read in a few years to see... (more)

Hurricane Katrina and Some Crazy Politics

Well, I went on a small rant in the comments of the PilotsWorld blog the other day. And today I'm going to follow up on some of my comments. I have a bit more info which I think will clarify things a bit more.

I made some comments about the media. I stand by the fact that I think some of the news media are simply sucking this for all they can. They are continuing with their tactics of reporting the worst possible stories they can find. I think by this point, there should be a lot more focus on the good Americans have done in the aftermath of Katrina...the aid workers who have... (more)

Well, my 2 week vacation is over and it's back to the grind.

I'm not a big fan of the first day of school. I'm so used to the summer session that I come back and suddenly there are so many people everywhere!! Just a crush of people wherever you go. I get used to it, but I really do prefer summer session.

So, I just went to my first class...only a 1/2 hour long. It's supposed to be 1 1/2 hours. Our prof just went over the course outline and then said, that's it. I hate when profs do that!!! I plan my day assuming I'm going to be in class the entire time and then they don't... (more)

But it's more from a headache I think that actual fatigue. Well, it is a bit of fatigue, but more just a headache. But I'm still here blogging!!

So, today was Orientation. I didn't volunteer this year, but there is an information fair in the afternoon which I attended. The info fair is to let new students know about services on Campus. So, I went and set up a table there for my SADD group. Things went well. I saw Michael VanBetuw for those of you who hung out with him (Andrew, Steven.) He seems to be settled into rez.

Now, I'm going to go off topic for a bit, but it'll all come... (more)

Yeah, just got off work and am tired, but I'm still blogging for you!!! It'll probably be boring, but we'll see.

Things are starting to happen. Starting pretty much tomorrow my days are going to start being full and busy and I've already made myself a schedule. I think that's how I'm going to have to operate this year...on a schedule. It's probably the only way I'll stay sane. I just have a lot going on. Tomorrow I have to wake up and clean my house and then go to work. And then Sunday I open, so I'll do that and then Cassandra will be here and we're meeting up after I"m done...
So, I have 4 days off in a row. It's my vacation time, so basically I'm playing everything by ear. I'm not making plans, I'm just going with the flow.

This morning I got up early and headed to work to talk to my manager. I never work with her, so if I have a problem this is about the only way I can let her know. So, my problem was with another staff member. We are a very busy store come the school year, but this co-worker can barely even keep up now, when we're about a 1/4 as busy. And my manager has her booked with me, just the 2 of us, during a Saturday lunch, and I'm pretty sure my... (more)

Wow!! It's only 1:12am, but my day today so far has been just great!!! Only an hour in and it's awesome...I only hope it doesn't go downhill from here. Let me re-cap my day:

12:00am...still at work. We got a new computer system there which makes my close a hell of a lot easier.

12:15am....have escaped the Subway and am now at the bank depositing my $2500 cheque. When I graduated, I won a $10,000 bursary from Encana (definitely my favourite oil company) which was to be given to me $2500 at a time. This was my 3rd installment. I can now pay part of my tuition. Wow is it sad when a... (more)

Yes, I have to pee. I will continue this entry in about 5-10 minutes...

OK I'm back. So, this is my last day in Weyburn. I've been very lazy with my blog, but whatever. I'm on vacation. When I come home I usually sit on my ass the whole time anyway, so whatever. So, today I actually have a topic of discussion, we'll see if anyone has any comments on it.

I found this book years ago in the Weyburn library. I have a fascination with India and I'm quite sure that this book is what started it. It's a story about a small farm girl who becomes a socialite and ends up being the... (more)

Well, I'm home in Weyburn. I got in yesterday (Thursday) and will probably leave on Wednesday. The bus trip was not too bad...I slept most of the way to Chamberlain. Andrew came to pick me up and I had to wait for him...there was a train and I was thinking "yup, Andrew's probably about 4th in the line-up on the other side of that train." And he was just behind the train.

I went down to Wal-mart yesterday and got myself the cushiest slippers. They're great. Pink...they make my feet look huge, but I don't care because they're just slippers. I also found Shrek 2 on VHS for only $4,... (more)
